"Ode to LRC" Band of Horses
So I saw Band of Horses live in Williamsburg yesterday. The sun was setting on the river, Manhattan skyline view, sea of warm bodies, and one of my most favorite bands; it couldn't have been any better. I can play all of their albums beginning to end without a moment of emptiness or jamming lull. They are a full-sounding feel-good American granola band minus any cliche twang (no cheating wife tractor shit).
I was going to post a new song, but I want to share a fun memorable song from last night. You cannot go wrong with a crowd of hipsters and mountain-dwelling frontmen singing "... the world is such a wonderful place."
How you'll feel: Like the Lord is singing to you, instructing you to fill up like a hot air balloon and float off toward the moon.
How you'll move: Shut-eyed head rolling and foot tapping.
When to play it: Anytime. No, really, play it right now.
Side note: Download Infinite Arms on iTunes now. Or listen to it streaming online. FYI, this song makes my top 100 favorite songs of all time list: "Detlef Schrempf,"
