2013 Year in Review - "Default" Atoms for Peace

"Default" Atoms for Peace

I'm alive! I'm back and I'm rusty, but I'm alive and I got on my good headphones and I'm ready to talk about the best music of the year. Please love me again! 2013 was 100% the year of pop music (unless you're someone else and it was 100% the year of indie folk rock). And I'll get to some of that, but I think I failed to pay attention to Thom Yorke's side baby Atoms for Peace, which has apparently been making electronic fans tweek and spaz for a solid year, and now I need to share. "Default" is a creepy, groovy, robot love jam. I'm obsessed. It's a fantastic mix of looming, running-through-the-woods video game bleeps and Radiohead-esque dramatic synth sounds. It moved me on first listen. Spaz and twirl away Yorke lovers.

When to play it: In good headphones while hacking for Anonymous.

How you'll move: Pigeon head bob.
